“How much do you charge”? This is the
usual question asked of a Celebrant when first meeting a Bride and
Groom. Budgeting for the big day is super important , as all events
such as a wedding , unless planned for can run away in terms of cost.
However , as the Celebrant is so important to the success of the
day , then perhaps the first question from the Bride and Groom should
be. “Will you perform this ceremony”? or “Will
you help plan a ceremony to fulfil our desires”? Then after
determining the type of ceremony the question could be asked. “How
much will I have to invest to have you perform this ceremony and
to have your expertise”?
Performing a basic ceremony and completing the legalities of marriage
costs very little. The investment in time , in planning , meetings
, obtaining advice and rehearsing the ceremony is the important
part of the process for you and the Celebrant.
The cost of having a professional full time Celebrant should be
considered and compared to the costs of venues , hire cars , clothing
, hair and make up. When this comparison is made , then the cost
of the Celebrant is perhaps the least.
